We are home to Oklahoma's only year round trout stream! The Beavers Bend State Park offers an interpretive nature center, and hiking trails in a deep forest setting and you will have access to thousands of acres of the Ouachita National Forest and the Three Rivers Wildlife Management Area where you'll find great hiking trails, nature photography, bird watching, deer and turkey hunting, mountain biking, horseback riding and ATV 4-Wheeler riding.

Here are a few ideas of the things you can do in Hochatown USA:

At Pine Meadow Cabins:

Nothing at All!
Guests often arrive with a long list of action-packed plans. But once they settle onto their porch, nothing is the best thing to do.
The Pond
Guests in cabins #1 - #12 and #31 can fish in the pond. Catch & Release. Stocked with perch, blue-gill and bass. Practice your fly casting before heading to the year-round trout stream or Broken Bow Lake.
Rock collecting
We’re amazed at the number of young children who gather rocks, pinecones, sweetgum balls, crickets, fireflies, turtles, butterflies… and other items found on the forest floor and in the woods.
Campfires
Small campfires, snuggling, wiener roasting and s’mores.
Star Gazing
Take a blanket to the meadow or cross the road to Broken Bow Lake for the annual Perseid meteor showers in August. Peace. Nature. Check your calendars for full moons, more good dates to visit the country. No city lights here.
Bird Watching
We have woodpeckers, bluebirds, turkeys, crows, blue heron, hummingbirds, bats, doves, blue jays, owls, eagles, hawks, mockingbirds, cardinals, robins and other songbirds.
Bald Eagle Viewing
Oklahoma is one of the Top 10 states for Bald Eagle viewing during Nov-Mar. The Beavers Bend Park Naturalist, Frank Griffith, leads viewings at 9:00 AM on Saturdays from Nov-Mar where the Bald Eagles nest on the spectacular sheer cliffs along the banks of the Mountain Fork River. He can also guide you through the nature center and can make possible a program lineup that includes campfires on the river bank, nature hikes, arts and crafts classes, water sports, sunset hikes, nature films, and astronomy outings.
